HOLIDAY WORK
Who should apply?
– Matrics: if you are considering agriculture as a career, and there is one of our businesses in your area, you’re welcome to apply. Also, learners currently enrolled at an agricultural school.
– All agricultural students at any institution of higher learning, students enrolled at SAMTRAC, SIMA, or in IT or HR related fields. We welcome applications from students for whom holiday work is a prerequisite for their degree or diploma or for their thesis.
– Students that we support through the Citrus Academy bursary scheme are contracted to participate in holiday work at one of our companies relevant to their field of studies.
What can you expect?
Generally, our companies offer opportunities during the March/April, June/July and September/October university holidays – from 1 to 2 weeks. During this time, we provide direct exposure to the workplace and a variety of job functions relevant to your field of study. If possible, you’ll be awarded a project or a variety of jobs to complete. We can address specific curriculum requirements of your current place of study and can provide feedback to the institution if necessary.
In certain cases, where available, we do provide accommodation.

WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: INTERNSHIPS

Our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programme helps students bridging theory and practice by giving them real and meaningful workplace exposure to obtain their diploma or degree.
Programme Overview
This programme offers a 12-month structured opportunity, based on a fix term employment, designed for current students who are required, as part of their qualification, to complete practical workplace exposure.
This programme focuses on learning, observation, guided practice and skills application, enabling young people to translate academic knowledge into real-world experience within a professional environment.
Who should apply?
- Students that need practical hours with on-the-job agricultural workplace experience to complete a degree, diploma or certificate
- TVET College students
- University of Technology students- Students that we support through the Citrus Academy bursary scheme are contracted to participate in holiday work at one of our companies relevant to their field of studies.
Criteria for consideration for the programme:
- Must be a registered student at an accredited institution
- Must require workplace exposure as part of qualification
- Valid academic letter / WIL requirement confirmation
- Willingness to learn and commit for the duration of the programme
- Basic computer literacy (where applicable)
- Be between the ages of 18 and 25
- Be willing to work in a practical, outdoor environment
- Be physically able to perform basic farm, nursery or packhouse-related duties
- Be committed to learning and skills development
- Be reliable, punctual and willing to follow instructions
- Not be permanently employed at the moment

Our graduate placement programme is a structured development and employment pathway for graduates who have already completed their qualifications. The programme focuses on fast-tracking high-potential graduates into professional roles through rotational exposure, performance-driven projects and targeted development.
